Google Classroom

This week, ruma Kereru are starting to delve into the realm of 'Google Classroom:'

'...a blended learning platform for schools that aim to simplify creating, distributing and grading assignments in a paperless way'

Students use their Goodwood gmail accounts to access Google Classroom.

Reading, Writing,  Maths and unit of Inquiry 'classes' have been set up and today students were invited to join them.  Simple tasks like: 'describing your learning from one Reading rotation this week' or 'explain how to finger-spell your name using NZSL' were set.  Becoming familiar with these new systems were the first area of focus.  As understanding and capabilities grow, so too will the possibilities for learning.

This digital learning tool will run alongside existing methods at this time - it gives students another platform in which to communicate their learning.

If you have any questions whatsoever please feel free to pop into Kereru and see this exciting new way of learning first hand!
