T1WK9

Although it was a short week this week it sure seems as though we have rocketed through an avalanche of learning activities!
  1. Thursday's Kereru Cardboard Arcade was a culmination of our 'Connection' unit of Inquiry studies for term 1.  Students will be reflecting upon and self-assessing their efforts in the coming days, as well as experiencing arcades from our other senior classes.
  2. Camp Memoir #2 writing has been published by many on googledocs.  Ms Copping will be working alongside Kereru learners this coming Monday 4/4 at 12:00pm to set up students for class blogging and to give handy hints for how to share and arrange googledocs...
  3. Could every student with a BYOD please bring it on Monday fully charged and ready to go for this session (A number of students are 'forgetting' devices some days and/or not bringing these in with sufficient battery - this can hamper our digital capability!)
  4. Friday's Year 6 Leadership Day at Kaipaki Hall was a wonderful opportunity for that Goodwood co-operation and teamwork to be on show!  Thanks to SNR parent helpers for transport and assistance on the day
  5. The Cycle Skills Challenge which was taking place on Wed 13th April has now been postponed until Term 2 due to lack of interest from other schools
Have a wonderful weekend - we hope to see photos on Monday from all of those away at the Beach Hop!

Regards,

Chris Garland

T1WK8 Stray thoughts...

  • Brainstorming, quick writing, pair-sharing and editing camp memoirs
  • Developing, finesing, finalising, advertising and teacher conferencing cardboard creations
  • Mentally-preparing, looking forward to and in-the-zone for Thursday IS Swimming Sports, (that was ultimately postponed until T1WK10 Friday 8th April)
  • Celebrating hard-working, thoughtful and focused: Jade and Saoirse on their cardboard designs, creation and all-round excellent teamwork!
  • Unexpected, more-than-welcome, peculiar Friday morning when the power went out and we all had to go home early to start our 5 1/2 day-long Easter weekend!
